Christmas Beauty Swap

I don't know about you but I feel the week of Christmas through the New Year is pretty much a marathon.  You split your time between your 10 family gatherings all while trying to not gain 15 pounds.  I mean you have to at least eat something at every gathering right? I tend to always end up at the desert table......fail.

In all of the hustle and bustle of the holidays I totally forgot to share my post of one of my favorite parties in the social media world.  Crystal Cattle has a beauty swap multiple times a year and they are pretty much the greatest thing ever.   You get to meet new ladies and try out new makeup.  What really could be better than that?  Nothing!

This time I was paired up with the lovely Jill Harvie.  She is an awesome cattle woman from Canada.

Jill sent me an item that was tried and true, one she just started using, and one she was going to try new with me also!  Such a great idea!

1.  Her tried and true: Maybelline Colorsensation Lip Liner Clear  For you women out there that wear bright lipsticks this is your saving grace!  It keeps your color form smearing all over your face.  You know what I'm talking about!

2. Her recently started: Loreal Linear Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner  I love liquid eye liners and have used the one from MAC for many years.  This one has great reviews and I can't wait to give it a try!

3. New to us both: Covergirl Blastflipstick Lipstick in Smooch  This color is amazing.  It has a dark and light to give and ombre effect.  If you put the lighter in the middle and darker on the sides it makes your lips look fuller.

Fall Beauty Swap

I've said it before and I'll say it again...this is the greatest thing on social media ever!!  If anyone of you know of a better activity than meeting someone new and sharing your favorite beauty items please let me know.  I doubt you can find one!  Crystal Cattle is a pure genius for coming up with this!

This time I was paired up with the lovely Melanie over at The Traveling Cowgirl.  I knew this girl was going to be pretty legit as when we contacted each other she was on her way to Round Top, TX to visit Junk Gypsy!  Any girl that likes the Junk Gypsy's is alright in my book!  She sent me some amazing new finds that I can't wait to share with y'all

Here are my absolute favorites!

I was told that NARS is very comparable to MAC but just cheaper.  I was skeptical because I am a MAC lover to the extreme.  I was pleasantly surprised!  I received this Matte Lip Pencil and I have worn it out multiple times and love it!

I also received this Sephora Lipstick in Deep Mauve.  I love this one too! I am loving these fall colors of mauve and burgundy!  You guys seriously need to try these two.  You won't be disappointed.

Now when you wear darker colored lipstick, many times the color will bleed up your face.  It isn't pretty.  Every time you glance in the mirror you notice the lipstick has moved all the way up to your nostrils.  Real life.  This product is a must have!!!  It is a clear lip liner that keeps your lipstick from bleeding.  Genius!

I also received the Buxom Mascara Bar as well as the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara.  These are both great products!  I have a couple buxom glosses that I love so was excited to try their mascara.  I have tried a couple different urban decay mascaras and this one didn't disappoint either.

I also received the Ole Henriksen Brightening Cleansing Cloth.  These are divine!  I love a great cleansing cloth that doesn't leave my face feeling greasy or gross.  These are great!  Last but not least I got mint lip balm.  Those are great!  My puppy actually got hold of my old one so this was perfect timing for a replacement!

Now go out and get these!  You won't be disappointed!

September Madness!

Is anyone out there?........  I apologize for my absence but the last couple of weeks have been crazy busy!  A couple of the days I literally have forgotten what day it was.  The saddest news I have to share is that it is currently 54 degrees and I don't think it will be getting much warmer.  Is summer really gone?  While my fat really enjoys this cool weather because I don't particularly like to sweat I do miss the warm 70 degree days.....is it really over already?

In other news.....
Our fair was last week and while the bad part about that is I had way too many sausage sandwiches and milkshakes along with the staple fair fries and 50 thousand other delicious delicacy's that you can only get during the fair.  The good part is that my nephew won Reserve Champion Market Steer!!

 Once fair was over I had a little more down time and in honor of finally getting to sleep in I had extra ambition to try out a new breakfast recipe.  I love pizza so having it for breakfast is pretty much a genius idea!  I had a left over thin crust pizza crust from one of those Little Caesars pizza kits (i'm sure you all have some as they are the only fundraiser kids do anymore i swear!)  I basted it with olive oil and baked it for 10 min.  Meanwhile i scrambled up 8 eggs and cooked some bacon and ground beef so when the crust was done I loaded it up with egg and meat and topped with cheese and put back in oven for 5 minutes.....viola!

Pretty much amazing!

Last but not least....

I don't know why I have spent my last 10-12 years of my life using tweezers from walmart that cost approx $1.99 and wondering why they don't work?  It never dawned on me that perhaps all tweezers were not made equal?  Well my life was changed last night.  On a random trip to town with my sister I quickly realized at checkout that I forgot tweezers as mine have disappeared somewhere (I bet they are out in shop as hubs used them for god knows what).  My sister in all her glory was like "revlon slanted fine tip, get those"......what does that even mean?  I sprint to the makeup isle, grab what seemed to be closest to her description and run back to checkout...... $10.99 LATER!!!!!  Who buys tweezers for $11? Well friends, one I got home I decided to try them out on my eyebrows which seem to be growing a winter mane and have I never been so impressed with an $11 purchase in my life!!  Ladies stop wasting your time like myself using the $1.99 walmart tweezers and using both hands to try to pinch them together tight enough it may just pull something out and go get yourself some worthy tweezers......you can thank me later.  :)

Spring Beauty Swap

Makeup, chocolates, beauty products, meeting new amazing women......yeah that just happened.

I was asked by the lovely Crystal Cattle to co host her spring beauty swap and I couldn't have been more excited!  It is such a great way to meet new people and get introduced to new products that you may have never thought to try!

This beauty swap I was partnered up with Sandy Porter from Idaho.  She pretty much nailed it!

I knew we needed to be friends once I saw this hilarious card!!

She also got me these amazing chocolates and they have a hint of mint in them so if you put them in your freezer they are delicious and I pretty much became addicted so Sandy if you read this please tell me where I can get more of those!!!!

Now onto the good stuff......

1. It's A 10- miracle leave in plus keratin.  This......by far one of the greatest things to ever receive in a beauty swap.  I have put in on my hair after my shower everyday since I received it and my hair is so soft and it for real is getting rid of my split ends and frizz!!!  A must have!

2. Hempz Moisturizer- this is some amazingly good lotion that is so soothing and doesn't leave your skin feeling oily or gross afterwards.  

3. OPI Cajun Shrimp- this color is one of the summer's best!  I wasted no time putting it on my nails!

4. CND nail and cuticle conditioner- I have yet to try this mostly because this time of year my hands are normally covered in dirt but can't wait to give it a try!

Spring.......where art thou?

It is currently snowing and we are expecting 2 inches of snow....is this real life?  I love snow and all and secretly enjoy it when everyone else is complaining about it, but........even I've had enough!!!!
Coincidentally enough it is snowing and I'm watching the movie The Holiday.....perhaps I'm confused as to what month it is!!

As I sit here mourning the lack of sun and warmth (however the weather just must be drunk because tomorrow it's supposed to be 54 degrees!!! woo hoo) there is nothing that brightens my mood better than a little MAKEUP!!!!  I was honored to get to co host this springs beauty swap over on the Crystal Cattle Blog

Beauty Swap Jackpot

Winter has lasted long enough mostly due to the extremely cold temps not so much the snow...love me some snow.   The only thing that is getting me through this never ending winter and keeping me from slowly falling into a severe depression is the wonderful sights and colors of spring.....and makeup!!  I'm so excited about spring and in its honor I recently picked up an adorable new pink lipstick from MAC in hopes it will entice spring to arrive.

 Crystal Cattle and Cowgirl Crush teamed up to hold another beauty swap and I cannot express how excited I was to be partnered up with Courtney Nolz owner of Cowgirl Crush.  If you haven't been to her online boutique I suggest you stop what you are doing and go there now and browse the amazing clothing and jewelry.  This is one of the top boutiques that I shop from!!

First off I received an amazing peach colored fringe scarf and a peach colored wrap bracelet that were way cute!  You can check them out at Cowgirl Crush

Victoria's Secret Heavenly Perfume-this stuff smells amazing!!  If you're looking for a nice smelling perfume this is a must try!

Fresh SUGAR tinted lip treatment- I received this in the color Berry and it is amazing.  It is like a chapstick that is tinted but leaves your lips feeling smooth.

Benefit They're Real Mascara- this mascara is legit.  It is jet black and does all that stuff like volumize, lifts, lengthens, separates.....etc

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer-a good primer is a must have.  It keeps your makeup vibrant and lasting!

Benefit 15 hour primer- like stated before.....always use a good primer.  I didn't see much of a difference between the 2 and neither felt greasy so either one is a great choice if looking for one!

Revlon Saucy Nailpolish-this is a great color that is a mix of red and orange!
